Torr Head Landscape Photos

February 25, 2016

On Tuesday morning, I set off early (5:30am - well, that's early for me!) to shoot the sunrise at Torr Head.  I had originally planned to head over to Co Donegal to Horn Head but decided at the last minute to change plans.  I felt compelled to try Torr Head as I had never shot there before.

When we arrived, the sky was quite clear. There was still a full moon on show which actually really helped us manoeuvre our way into position and we hardly even needed the head torches!  The sky was pretty clear looking towards the horizon and we could clearly see the Ailsa Craig, Sanda Island, the Isle of Arran and mainland Scotland.  But I knew this probably wasn't gonna produce much colour in the sky due to the lack of clouds.  I was more interested in the soft golden light that I knew would be side lighting the cliffs looking east, back towards Cushendun, Cushendall & the scenic Torr Head coastal drive.  So it was just a matter of waiting.

Here are a few of my favourite Torr Head landscape photos from Tuesday morning.  As always, all my Fine Art Landscapes are available in a variety of finishes and sizes.  You can purchase them directly from HERE.

These were all shot with the Canon 5DS and 16-35mm lens, using a selection of LEE filters.
